All About The Grain - Irish Grain Whiskey Tasting

We are delighted to announce our November Online tasting, which focuses on Irish Grain whiskeys . This virtual tasting will feature guests Louise McGuane, Jennifer Nickerson, Alex Chasko, Yiorgos Manesis and Leo Phelan, moderated by Fionnán O'Connor. The event will take place on Thursday the 26th of November at 7.30pm.

The silent partner in most of the world's major Scotch and Irish blends, grain whiskey is the lightest of Ireland's traditional whiskey styles, distilled in column stills typically to high ABV purity levels, producing a lighter, sweeter distillate than its more robust malt and pot still cousins. Often underappreciated and still typically produced as a blending component, 'single grain' expressions have nevertheless slowly gained stature as a stand-alone category and Ireland in 2020 may very well be leading the way on this frontier. We're delighted our members will get to join this special tasting, which will showcase grain expressions from multiple producers across Irish distilling.

Irish Whiskey Society: Midleton Single Grain. Single Cask 18 Years Old (50.6%)

J.J. Corry: The Hanson Blended Grain (46%)

James J. Fox: Fercullen Single Grain. Single Cask 13 Years Old (57.1%)

Tipperary Boutique Selection Single Grain. Single Cask 9 Years Old (59.55%)

Teeling Whiskey Single Grain. Cask Strength Sample. First fill Red Wine (Napa Valley) Cask from European Oak. (60.3%)

Booking opens on Saturday 14th of November 6.00pm. This will be a popular event, so please set a reminder to secure your space. Please ensure to complete your Full Address, Phone number and Eircode correctly to ensure your sample pack is delivered on time. Packs can be only be shipped within the island of Ireland (RoI and N.I. only).

The event LiveStream will begin at 7:30pm on Thursday 26th of November and is for members only. You will receive a link to the live stream in advance of the tasting.
