Irish Whiskey Awards Judging Day 2: Thursday 1st August 2019

We are honoured to be invited to participate in this year’s Irish Whiskey Awards. Places are available to members who register for this event. Booking for Day 2 closes on Sunday 28th July.

Every year Irish Whiskey Award Judges are needed to step forward for the tough but rewarding task of judging the whiskeys.

This year the awards will be splitting up the categories over two days in Dublin so that each day incorporates different whiskey categories. Attendees are more than welcome to attend both tasting sessions or just one, please note if you want to attend both days you need to book on to each day.

We are being invited to this event for free, however when booing please ensure you can actually attend to be fair to other members and to the awards staff who have to set out all the samples and tasting mats.

Irish Whiskey Awards - which are now in their seventh year - the categories are as follows:

  • Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey
  • Irish Single Malt Whiskey (12 Years & Younger)
  • Irish Single Malt Whiskey (13 Years & Older)
  • Irish Blended Whiskey (RRP of less than €60)
  • Irish Blended Whiskey (RRP of €60 or more)
  • Irish Single Cask Whiskey
  • Irish Cask Strength Whiskey
  • Irish Single Grain Whiskey
  • New Irish Whiskey (Only distilleries open 3-8 years can enter and it must be distilled on site)

The Irish Whiskey Awards encourage all judges to start on a full stomach and use the spittoons provided. A break for food is also highly recommended.
